The Met Gala an event held in New York City celebrates art and fashion as a whole. It is an annual fundraising gala that supports the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. Every year there is a different theme and hundreds of celebrities risk it all for fashion and art. This year was no different with the theme being Art of the In-Between. But this years makeup and hair looks along with head dress were the stand outs by far.
The Met Gala is held on the first Monday of May every year and it is to celebrate the opening of the Costume Institute Spring Exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This years theme Art of the In-Between was taken from Rei Kawakubo the designer of Comme des Garçons a Japanese fashion label. The Costume Institute contains 35,000 items of clothing and accessories made within five continents over seven centuries.
So what do they do there? Well for the lucky ones who are invited A.K.A celebrities, designers, editors, musicians the exhibition is open for them to view privately before an exquisite dinner followed by dancing and partying concludes the nights festivities. Here are my favourite looks from this years MET GALA!
