Autumn is upon us, yes I am no longer in Australia enjoying the sunshine I am currently living in London basking in the icy cold weather. To be honest, it hasn’t been too bad so I won’t jinx it anymore. However, one month left of Autumn and that means I have to start shopping for a whole new winter wardrobe. Clearly, I’ve never had to buy thermals before and I’ve only just invested in a pair of UGG boots, so let’s just say I’ve never really experienced winter being the Aussie baby that I am.
I am a big supporter of online shopping and I know a lot of you will either be a fan or not. I do tend to buy affordable pieces just because I like to refresh my wardrobe on a monthly basis, but I also invest in statement pieces that I keep for years. So I’m about to put together the IT-list for your winter wardrobe this 2018-19 season. If you are from Australia, I will be writing a summer IT-list too, don’t you worry Aussie Fans (I got you).
We all need a statement pair of boots, whether that be thigh high, ankle boots or just some knee-high leather ones. These need to be one of a kind because we all know that a pair of great black boots is a normal piece you’d already have. So for my list, I would definitely say dip those toes into some unique, fashion-forward boots. Here are some of my faves!!
Another item to add to your winter list is an oversized knit dress, this can take you from day to night easily with your new pair of statement boots! I prefer off the shoulder but since it is winter you may opt to cover your shoulders a little.
This season I’m hoping to get my hands on a pair of flare pants. These are really in at the moment and paired with a platform boot these help to elongate your legs which in turn makes you look taller and slimmer.
Last but not least my favourite thing of all is a good old accessory to top off your entire look. I enjoy wearing hats and I know not everyone suits them, however I think for winter you can’t go wrong with a hat to protect your hair from the crazy winds and the drizzle when you’re outside.
