This has been a little-delayed seeing as my other vlogs from Italy, Mykonos & London have already been published on youtube. Don’t forget to check those out.
I have been in London just over a week and keeping busy and have some super exciting news coming up!!! YAY I can’t wait. But let us get back to the post. I visited Milan and Rome in August which was beyond beautiful. I had already been to Italy beforehand but only visited Venice so I was excited to get the full Lizzie Mcguire effect. THIS IS WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF…
So I headed to Milan first and stayed pretty much smack-bang (do people still say that) in the center of the city. Right near the Duomo! I got to the hotel and was pretty annoyed by the size of my room… Like literally it was the size of my toe (which is pretty tiny) thank god however there was a leak in the room and I got upgraded 🙂
So apart from the hotel being average the location was great… walking distance to everything and a safe neighbourhood. The Galleria restaurant was one of my favourites, the bruschetta was the best I’ve ever had and the service was so on point. Another place you have to see is Terrazza Aperol which has epic views of the Duomo.
I’ll definitely be back sooner rather than later, especially now that its only about an hour or so away from London. I was only in Milan a couple of days and then caught the train to Rome. If you haven’t tried it, I’d definitely recommend the train its just less chaos and security checks than the airport.
Rome had by far my favourite things to see, you have the Colosseum, Spanish steps, trevi fountain all walking distance from one another. On top of this plenty of good food, hot men and great culture. If you travel a little out you can see The Vatican and St Peter’s Basilica which is what I did. I chose to do an early morning tour, so I had to get there at 7 am. But this means you miss all the rush of people and crowds, which is gross (sweaty, no thanks)
The only downfall was the fact that I could not find one nightlife hotspot at all. I tried one club which was not even open (WTF) and then headed to an Irish pub which was… let’s just say, not my thing. So if anyone has any suggestions for nightlife spots to hit when over in Milan or Rome, please do comment.
